Genarator

Hello there. I am driving my good feroza about a year and a half its a 93 or 94 model ELII. I been having a certain problem twice. When ever i get in mud or water (engine becames brown) after 5 minutes my Genarator stops charging the battery. Ok the first time i sayed it must have been old. Then after 6 months without having a big bath of mud of water (i didnt want to happen again) i got crazy one day and i went again for a big bath of mud and water and again the Genarator stopped working (remember the lights with the signs of (?) and battery when they light up is the genarator problem and also the voltometer is getting lower and lower). Why is that happenning? My service store told me that the genarator of Ferozas are not capable to run after water and mud. Has ever happen to anyone of you? One more thing i havent changed the ganarator only needed to take out clean it and reaseble it. Can i use another genarator that handles water and mud? One idea that come up is to shield up the genarator (carefully designed so it will not explode) and see if it keeps mud and water away

this is simply because of the fact that the fan to cool the alternator is on the inside of the housing. this in turns draws water/mud and screws it up. its normal. double check all of your grounds just in case. and when it happens, jus let it dry out and you'll be fine. also make sure to clean it out once in a while. lol. sadly the location isnt that great either. only way to really improve this problem is to switch to an alternator that has an external fan. but again, either way they're both going to get wet because the location sucks.

Bad memories after these photos taken. The engine got water and i had to go through all the procedure to take out water from the sparks (how you call it?) and going home with out the air tubes (the sound was great without the airfilter tubes like a turbo). I like snoker but i do a lot of trips and i believe it would be to noise (but i have all the stuff i need to make a snoker but i am waiting to get a second car
)

lol... looks like are also getting your distrub wet as well.. try to water proof thats much as you can. it'll make a difference in terms of voltage loss and reduce stress on your alternator. also. spray a bunch of wd40 in your alternator(dont know if you have that in your country?). spray it heaps with water from a hose, let it dry out. then tap it (gentle!!) with a hammer. see if you have any dust come out. if so, then you need to take it apart completely and clean the brushes. examine them. they might be worn and the water/mud isnt helping.

Yes we do have wd40 ( i always have one in my car) now about the distrub i use to have that problem but no more (some rubber was not well fit) and i used wd40 and started engine well. But any advice about the genarator any tip of changing it or shield it up?

A snorkel does not produce much extra noise, so that will be fine.
It will probably keep your car running if you do big water like that again though... if you dizzy and alt are kept dry.
If you plan to go in deep water, some people cover the front grille with a tarp or plastic cover, as to stop water entering the radiator, fan and engine area. Too much deep water can cause your engine fan to break, maybe also punching a hole in your radiator. This is one reason thermatic fans are fitted, as you can turn them off for playing in water/mud.

I am sure that most of the MUD is not coming only from the front ( maybe i put a camera in the engine to see from where the mud comes from
) but also on the side ways of the wheels. All these problem starts when ever i run fast through MUD but for about 6 months i didnt run fast through MUD and everything was ok. Now about snoker i am thinking to fit it and tested and if i like it then i will do the hole on the side of the car.
