Howdy guys,
well i am almost finished on my rear storage for the zook. i have made it with alloy angle and fastened together with 3/16 round head bolts with nyloc nuts. i chose the angle as it was free and i wanted something light.. everyone make them out of steel etc but thats a tad too heavy for my purpose.. and its still strong enough to hold me up due to the extra support in the middle.
12mm mdf was used for the top. 6mm for the sides and centre baffle.
got bunnings to cut it for me. $9.70 for the 6mm mdf. and $7.** bucks for the 12mm. 4 bucks for them cutting it but its better than i could do for sure.
3 hinges a side for the tops. $1.45ea x 6. these were secured with 18mm 3/16 bolts and again nyloc nuts + washers. drilled all the way through for strength.
sides and baffle were secured with 3/16 x 12mm bolts/nuts and washers. also they are secured again with the hinges bolts going through em.
all uprights were pre drilled and then put together the fram in the back of the zook with a few tools.. these are as follows:
* Cordless Drill + bits
* Vice grips
* screwdriver
* sockets + ratchet
* angle grinder
* vice
* square and pencil
* tape measure
* beer
* scissors
i am uploading pics to a site now so they will follow shortly.
cheers.
