Outer Limits 4x4 Board

I'm thinking of getting some Mickey Thomson MTZ's and was wondering do many people use them? From all reports they seem good, was just wondering what other people thought of them.

but yes a great peice of rubber... im upto nearly 30 000 since ryano fitted me some and they looking in very good shape and seem to be able to handle everything with ease...

a good photo for mtz

these are a great tyre even in sand they help my pajero 89 get up camp road at lmp (cruser park) 3 times and thats with ifs so two wheels where of the ground constantly. dident help my cluch thoe maby griped to much when my cluch dident want to go. the biggest advantage i had is they gripped up the blody wall. and my tyre pressure was 36psi! dident even have to air out

I've got 2 sets.. a set of 38's on my 80 and a set of 32" on my triton.. the ones on the 80 are awesome off rd and the ones on the triton are very good on and off , hang on well on road and not bad off rd..

2nd best in the wet for me.....Those Kumho KL71's were awesome in the wet!! The MTZ's are wearing a hell of a lot better than those were but. Just clicked over 10k on mine, am still really happy with them!

how is the noise factor on these bad boys???

I know they are a muddy but any comparisons with some others like coopers new one or bfg's etc?

they appear to hold the trails very well though as you would suspect in the deep sloppy stuff not quite as good but to be expected..

noise wise they are great... compare these to mtrs say at 30 000 and hands down winner.. much of a muchness to coopers in my opinion maybe slightly better.. and quiter than claws as you expect... i havnt had much time on bfgs so cant comment

I wouldnt think judgin by the photo above on the Paj, they wouldnt clear anywhere near as good as a claw or be anywhere near a claw in mud/slop... could be wrong

na thats just walking on the sand just 50 seconds on the beach on hard stuff. belive me when you get your side mirros nocked buy a chunk of mud they clean well and everywere on the gards took ages to clean but thats 4wdriven. car wasent so muddy on the outside just inside the gards

No, I mean by how close the lugs are compared to a claw.. sorry, but I find it hard to believe they would be better than a claw...

Edit sorry bogged i thought you were talking about noise:

the radial claws lugs are bigger than the bias claws and about as far apart. the mtz's are prob 2/3rds the gap as the radial claw between lugs. the radial is a self cleaning lug and don't really block all that easily. The radials i just pulled off mine had crazy traction (36x15.5r15) i think they would be hard to beat. I am going to a 37x12.5r15 to take the load off everything in ruts as they are a bit wide on mine for fraser tracks

The mtz's are quiet, after being in binghams i would buy them if i didn't love radials. But noise isn't really my department when it comes to tyre choice - i don't even have a dash no mind sound deadening on the firewall !

From the times before i stripped the cab i noticed the radials bark up at about 65 - 75 depending on diamater i assume but its only for a small window like between 66 and 69klm on my rig. The mtz's on binghams don't seem to do this.

I think the mtz's would outlast the radial but time on binghams bus will tell

i was compaing them to my 38" MTZ's.. and i have had them against claws and they are more chunky.. and do work better..

ok well that interesting maybe the sideways traction is better as i used to find my baja claws when on a side slope tend to let you slide sideways.I run kl17's now and they grip heaps better than my baja claws.

im looking at buying a set of these for my GQ whast peoples opinions on sizes tho i have a GQ LWB 4.2 turbo diesel makes good power got 4.1 diffs only has 3 inch suspension ATM but planning on maybe fitting some coil spacers for an extra inch and radius arm spacers currently run 33 cooper st , trying to decide on 33x12.5x15 or 35x12.5x15 the truck doesnt gwet used during the week as i got a company car and misus got her car we only use it to go 4wd and camping away etc , but where planning on doing some bigger trips fraser island this chrissy maybe cape york or tassy in next few years etc?

my last patrol was a shorty ran 35 bfg muddys but i dont a lot more hard 4wd with that one
