Hi all,

Might be able to get my hands on a good 9000lb Warn winch at mates rates and was wondering if this winch is adequate for '01 GU wagon fully loaded? Thinking of possible suction forces, etc which the winch may have to overcome. Let me know what you guys have on yours. Thanks.

just fitted one to mine, and most in our club have 9000s have had for yrs.

if you need to you can always do a double line or triple line pull with pulleys...

YMMV

x2 what Bruce said

You will possibly get into situations one day that a 10,00lb winch won't pull you out of, although brute power in a winch is fun and good to have, smart use of the winch will always beat brute power.

Also upgrading it with a good solenoid will help! :D

Most owners of GU's, GQ's, 80 series and 100series use the XD9000 or other 9000lb winches.
Also the 10000lb and above are much bigger and heavier.
