best thing you can do is chuck the springs and put some aussie made ones in, you'll still be able to walk after driving it then.

It's not a Scat, but an earlier '81 F20.

Put in some later models parts though:
replaced wheezing 1.6 12R with big block 2.0 18R using dellows bell kit
replaced 4 speed with 5 speed from later model
still running factory springs (reset) and original shocks
black SAAS seats
full interior fitout with luxurious black carpet, overhead cupboards and flat bed drawers
resprayed in factory colour - beautiful mustard
homemade custom bullbar
32 BF muds
'special' shackles
body lift
homemade snorkel - exhaust pipe

...and a million other things I can't think of right now

Still drive it every now and again, bought it as my first car (back in '87), not worth anything on the open market, so I keep it for show and shines and groceries. Drive it when I'm not in the Camolux, or the Mav, or the Sportage...

When we get a house I'll get another rear diff and weld him up (lockers - good luck finding them - detroits were available, but $$$$ and not worth it)

The driveshafts are pretty beefy for a vehicle it's size, and the axleshafts and CVs are large too.

I've got all the workshop manuals - if you need any info, pm me.

i forgot, petrol diff centres are not as strong as the diesel one.
was running 33's and the petrol diff ratios were spot on for then, but kept breacking then cig'd or not.
