Go 3in dump just behind cab or, If you have a bit of room put a stack on it that'd be cool  Going to do probably 3in drop behind cab on mates next weekend when we fit the turbo up to it

thankx guys, i was thinking that it might have to be smaller like a 2 - 2.5inch pipe because it's only a 4 banger. but u recon 2.75 - 3inch, it's a daily driver so dunno about the dump pipe :P but i spoke to the exhaust tech the other day and he tells me that it's illegial  to not have a muffler. he suggested a straight through muffler. has anyone had this setup? do u loose any turbo noise? and is a straight through pipe the ONLY way to go?

With a turbo diesal basically bigger is better as far as breathing goes, also helps reduce exhaust gas temps (High EGT's are bad mmkay).

You could easily do a 3 inch dump pipe from the turbo, and then scale back to a 2.75 or even 2.5 inch pipe somewhere under the footwell.

If you run with no muffler you get the most turbo noise, you can run what has been described to me as a "turbo" muffler that will give you legality (sorta as you still have to comply with certain sound ratings) of having a muffler but keep most of the turbo whine ...

It may get a bit annoying in the cabin on long drives though. as it can become a bit of a droneing annoying noise.

I have a turbo 2.8 with a 2.5 inch mandrel bent with no mufflers sounds good, goes good not to loud but if you want to take some of the bark out put in a hotdog.

I just got a Denco turbo kit put on last week and have a mandrel bent 2.25inch straight through. I get a really nice note and turbo whistle without the drone you get while sitting on the highway. My egts rarely go above 350 degrees even if I'm flogging it up a big hill

Ive got 2.5 from the turbo back with no mufflers, sounds a bit like the garbage truck going past in the morning but because of the turbo the harshness is taken out of the noise, sounds cool and you get the trademark whine as well.

I had 2 1/2 inch mandral bent, with no mufflers on my 2.4. I wouldnt have gone any bigger. the 2.5 sounds awesome and its not annoying loud. I personally think that 3 inch is a lot of pipe for a small engine

I put 3" on mine including the dump pipe.
Using a straight thru Muffler.
It is quiet when cruising and sounds like a truck when you give it heaps :D
Tried no muffler and it wasnt overly loud (a bit but not too bad) but I reckon it sounds better with the muff.
I ran the exhaust right to the back of the tray as if you dump it behind the cab you can get diesel soot on the tray.
