Basics:
But metal, stick together with weld, drive on it. :lol:

Generally they operate at either 20 or 30 degrees and it is as easy as wooders says. Buy a few lengths of shs, cut it all up with the grinder, weld it all back together in the shape of a ramp.

20 deg ramps are easyer to drive up if its for your daily driver without much gearing.

If its to pose and brag about your ramp score i think its either 22 or 30 deg. If u want it to make sure things clear when flexing, than any angle will do.

Is there a formula to the scoring on the ramp?
eg distance up ramp divided by wheelbase or something similar?
otherwise it is a bit pointless ------ anyone can drive up a ramp and say look at me !!!

Or just buy one of these for use and drive over it.

the basic formula is distance/wheelbase*1000

then there is a pro formula which i dont have, which corrects for different ramp degrees, etc.

RTI = (h/b) * (1000/Sin(A))

where:
h = height of the bottom of the tyre off the ground
b = wheelbase
A = angle of the ramp

It's essentially the same formula as UDM described but the distance along the ramp is expressed as h/Sin(A). This means the formula will work without even using an acutal ramp, or a ramp of any angle.

Standard ramp angles are 20*, 23* (NOT 22*), and 30*.
My opinion.
20* for IFS vehicles,
23* for peoplewho daily drive there Solid Axle vehicle,
30* for offroad only rigs. (and more extreme daily drivers)

I'll disagree with V840 and say that 23* and 30* are the populor two, and 20* is less populor.
