i searched and found that the diesel ones are different to the petrol ones but nothing on the 4.2 and 4.5 diferences?

i pulled it apart to take a look and the magnets on the motor are broken, and theres part of it thats melted.
its definately rooted :bad-words:

i found out that aparently tb42 is the same as tb45 as long as they are both manual....

well i got one from a tb42 but it looks different.
the gear looks the same, the bolt holes line up where it mounts so i think that it might work.
might build a good one with the parts i have. maybe take the motor out of the new one and put it on the old one?
anyone done this before??
il have to ride to work in the morning.. i just hope it doesnt rain :bad-words:

I doubt the petrol ones and the diesel ones are the same, as the diesel ones require crapola loads more juice to crank the engine over.

but iam just guessing.

Hey J-top paj read my thread on starters. They can be rebuilt or replaced with parts from cooldrive in melbourne. Look at the brochure on link below.

i stuck the GQ one in this arvo and it works fine.
sounds a bit different, almost like a diesel starting up.

i went to a place that specialises in startermotors, alternators etc...
and going of the code on the old one aparently they are the same as the GQ ones. this was the info they have from hitachi

so now im back on the road  i just gotta get it all alligned now after putting some snake racing gear under it :D
