i have a 1.6 efi motor, and just noticed that looks like a vacum diaphram thingy on the back of the motor is busted, think it goes to air polution thingy , but has fuel in it well dripping from it any way . there are 2 one on top of motor near dissy cap and one on back of motor near heater hoses. Any one have a parts break down so i know what part to order. other wise, do have photo, just figureing how to host it. Any idea on cost of the it. and the houseing it bolts on to motor.

going over it again , looks like something to do with emmision control, cant figure why there is fuel dripping from it, as should be a vacum line, but there is no pressure .
Also looking for manual for the motor, as i only havea serria manual.

Does it bolt into the exhaust manifold ?
If so its something to do with vacum line to the carby, Creates vacum and opens / close part of the butterflies from memory.
Dont have my manual in front of me so i'm guessing a bit.

okay so what is an egr valve, so what does it do , and how does it function? guessing it some sort of vacum, and it ties in to sensors somehow and what are they worth.

EGR (exhaust Re-circulation Valve) returns some of the exhuast to the inlet tract, to be re-burned in in the cumbustion process. It helps eliminate emissions. It only re-circulates under certain conditions, usually warmed up to opperation temp and on constant meduim load crusie.

hmm so if i wasnt getting a good burn , would that explain why i had fuel dripping from the cracked houseing?

I've also seen 'em used as fully sikk blow-off valves in tightar$e versions of turbo-charged cars

want one? i have the one from my inlet manifold that isn't used anymore. as far as i know it's working, but hasn't been used for the last 4 years.
Btw, not to hijack a thread or anything, but this kinda ties into it... Where this EGR valve bolts to the inlet manifold, i can see the 'pipe' (it's cast into the manifold and also the head) where the gasses would be drawn from the exhaust manifold. My zook has extractors, and they just cover over that hole, so this little guy is useless.
Here's my question. In a previous post of mine last year, i asked why the hole on the exhaust side of the head would be weeping oil. i've checked the path this pipe takes, and it shouldn't be picking up oil from anywhere. is there something i'm missing, or should i just seal over the hole and ignore it since it's not used anymore??

Hey i dont mind the hi jack,
If the valve you are talking about is on the back of the motor, and not the one on the top near the rocker cover, sure will grab it if possible.
The only reason i can think of with oil is a bad burn , and that is what is comingout. but that oil should be turned to smoke, so who knows.
