Lift for 35" tyres

Hi all,

From a search I did (there's a thread here on fitting 36es) I get the impression (it's not that definite) that I could fit 35" tyres under a SWB Maverick with all-up lift of 4" and no cutting.

Is that right? It strikes me as optimistic just from looking at the cars, but then I don't actually have my hands on one yet.

I was thinking of just going 4" suspension lift and leaving body lift for a future date when I need it for some other reason, mainly because suspension lift is gonna be less work than suspension + body and I'm lazy.

Also thinking I won't change the gearing immediately; see how it goes first.

Anyone?

I've got a lwb with a 4" lift with 3" body lift and 37" baja's. i had to cut 2" out of the back of all the arches. I'm not too sure about the 35's but logically i'd say you would deffinately need the body lift and/or cut the guards.

I've also got the petrol carby motor and with 37's it still has all the balls needed to turn em in any direction i point them. no gearing changed.

I think you'll find you'll need the body lift if you want to wheel the thing. Static ride height might be okay with a 4 inch lift, it will sit slightly higher than a wagon due to less body and chassis weight, but will scrub on articulation without major bumpstop lengthening. You will get by in the short term, but if you want to wheel, it will just get plain annoying with the tyres cracking out the flares, scrubbing on the mudflap bracketry and ripping chunks outta your tyres.

GO with 4sus and 2 body, or trim the lip of the archs..
