Ok guys i have a problem
I have just installed a new engine in my 1990 suzuki sierra. It is the exact same 1.3L engine as what was originally in it except its been rebuilt. The installation went smoothly however the car will not start and idle it turns over alright but wont fire up. When i put my foot flat on the accellerator and try to start it it shoots flames out of the top of the carby. Apparently the ignition timeing has to be set but i can't figure out how to do it. Can anyone help me if so it would be much appreciated.

pull no 1 spark plug out , get the piston top dead center make sure the timing marks line up on the front of motor .pull dizzy cap off. if rotor button is not pointing at no 1 lead pull dizzy out and reinstall
sounds like dizzy is 180 out

Yep think Davo is on the money here. I had the same problem after changing leads. Wouldnt fire checked everything had a beer, rechecked and another beer etc. Turned out when I built the motor 3years ago I put the dizzy in 180o out but somehow fluked the plug leads wrong aswell so it ran. When I changed the leads I got the leads right which was wrong compared to the dizzy.
