wheel spacers

hey every1, ive got a set of 33,11.5 jt2's on 16" gxl 80 seires rims and they rub a bit on flex, was wondering if the off set between 70 series and 80 series would be different?
or, what sort of wheel spacing is availible?

I believe the 80 Series GXL rims are off set in further than a normal Sunraisia type rim. I dunno what 70 series rims you are refering to to make a comparision with. I have a set of 80 Series GXL rims with Q78 Swampers on an 80 that do the same thing and rub on the inner guard and use 6mm wheel spacers to overcome the problem. If you go wider in the rim off set you may need flairs and new rims. Wheelspacers may be the cheaper option.

spacers put extra load on your wheel bearings and wheel studs.. and are illegal in some states

thanks for the replies yeah ive heard that spacers put extra load but like stated so do bigger rims and tyres right
, the spacers will only be used when wheeling anyway like wise with the tyres.
where do u get these spacers? and ow much$$ are we looking at?

I can bring in wheel spacers from the US as i am a Trail Gear seller here in Aus give me a buzz and i can get you a price ill bring them in with a shipment to save freight .
They come in sizes 1" 1.25" 1.5" 2" and 3"
They will be aroun $95 each upto the 1.5"

As well as being illegal they require longer wheel studs.

how about a 2nd set of wheel nuts?
1 set to bolt the spacer to the original wheel studs, then a 2nd set to bolt the wheel to the spacer, that's why they are illegal. Plus most states will not let you increase your wheel track.

Depends on the type of spacer used... you can get spacers which are just meal discs which sit between the hub and the rim or you can get spacers which bolt to the hub and have thier own set of wheel studs. The first kind are for up to 10mm or so... whereas the second type can be heaps of larger sizes (inches).
