V8 engine conversion!!

Post by bushmq »

Ok i know this has probably been done before but i want to know about V8 conversions for my MQ shorty but i have a few stipulations.

1. It shouldnt cost the earth i.e be a conversion i can do myself without modifying things drastically and use mainly bolt on conversion parts.

2. Must be fuel injected

3. Must be able to take my 4speed manual box, i dont want an auto.

If any of you know of what type of engine would suit my conversion, or have done such a conversion yourself could you let me know a rough idea of total cost, where items were sourced and difficulty of conversion???

Thanks in advance guys
Daniel

Have a gander through the MQ MK Bible...... its in the section called OWNERS MANUAL which is at the top of the Nissan page.

There's heaps of reading to be done about this type of conversion & includes members rigs that have had this conversion IE: mine and Jeffricals rigs, there's also links to various manafacturers of adaptors.

Alternatively buy Jes' roller and go from there or by my spare fully rebuilt V8 which includes a fresh respray, new V8 which has done about 100Ks !!!!, all new interior ( vynal & carpets ), new sound system, both diffs have been fully refurbished, new shocks, new brakes , new new new new new new new ....... The bellhousing on this rig is drilled to take either holden of chev engines.

Do you need to weld anything to chassis (x-member) for the conversion?
How much massageing do you have to do to the fire wall?
