rangie zf conversion (question)

Hi there all wondering if someone could help with my dumbness :oops:

I have purchased a zf box for my 84 rangey and what i want to make sure of before i pick it up is exactly what i need to get with it to make it work. As i am going from a 5 speed i think lt77 to this obviously i need brake pedal and main peices but is there any little things that i may not think of eg. are they ran by computer etc.
This is what the ad said comes with it (Range Rover Automatic Transmission 4 Speed ZF. Comes with spacer,driveplate,torque convertor,oil cooler and cooler lines,auto shifter and transfer shifter,complete console.)

Any help would be appreciated Thanx :)

Hydraulicly controlled, so will be fine, you don't need the brake pedal, the manual one will be fine, everything else listed should complete the conversion fine

there is two types of zf 4 speeds. one of them (the one that I have) is as cloughy said the other one is out of the p38 HSE that requires a computer Just be careful about the brake pedal I had to get mine change and the welds had to be x-rayed before the engineer aproved it (QLD) I think the model number goes something like this hp22zf or hp24zf ? not too sure hope this helps

There is the 4HP22, 4HP22EH and 4HP24EH, the 22's are the normal ZF's and the 24's come from behind the 4.6 and are uprated to withstand more power. The EH's are the Electronic/Hydraulic units that require the computers.

Thanx very much guys this all helps a great deal as i had no idea and i haven't been playing with these things for long.
I think it should be pretty right as it is coming out of 87 model rangey so should be hydraulic unit but doesnt hurt to be armed with knowledge when i go to pick it up tomorrow.
Think its gunna be big week in the shed this week :armsup:

P.S Cloughy did your mate end up selling that 4.4 ute if not do you know what he is doin with it.

Probably the most important and fiddly thing to get right is the kickdown cable at the carby end.

I have spent many happy hours calculating the length of the lever and setting up a cable extension , and making a lever with a flat on the spindle, after fitting a Thor manifold to my 3.9.

So you may have to buy an auto carby linkage if it does not have the bits on it standard, and then the lever lengths still may be wrong as they are for a 727.

me again just gone and picked up the box my next questions are can any one tell me what the banjo bolt is at the rear left of the box before where the transfer bolts up.
Also i need to know if the linkages from the transfer selector are the same from lt77 as from the zf
