dead starter

fitted my rebuilt carbs today alot of time fucking with linkages wouldent think there would be much diffrance from manual to auto choke. anyways the starter is farked will v8 disco starters fit 72 rangie with lt95 or do i need to find an of an early model like mine? its beyond repair it caught fire a few years ago and i patched it up and now its totaly fryed also has anyone got an engine wireing loom laying around? the one that plugs in on the firewall over near the left side it has the starter wireing alt wireing ect mines gone all hard and theres melted bits at the starter and i couldent be arsed makeing another cheers

Disco starter will fit and maybe all rover V8 starters.

i have a starter out of a rover 3500 car there half the dia but mount the same only solinoid is in the wrong spot

All rover V8 starters are the same except the rover 3500/sd1 starter casting places the solenoid pointing down IIRC and its not sealed like a rangie one but the solenoid will fit as i got a sd1 starter from the wreckers just for the solenoid.

i found the end of the solinoid was diffrant where it engauged the throw out lever but that can be changed except the solinoid its self did not mount on to the starter the same as the rangie the only things i found the same was where it bolts to the gear box and the tooth count and pitch on the pinion gear

Solenoid fitted without mods on my orignal 81' rangie starter ?

mines 72 so maybe there diffrant the starter its self is huge to. but its back working with a strip down and clean with the gerni full of oil and crap

I have old 2 door u can have harness if u buy the disc diff

i ended up geting a whole front end trucked up from melb for less then the wrecker here wanted for his 10 spline junk
