there was a loud crack/creak. is this just the springs unloading or is something bottoming out. its a coil sprung model too

yer, my jimny does the same thing, always has

it's the control arm bolts at the diff end, moving. it's ok.
if the noise goes away, i'd check for cracks on the diff housing.

i haven't tried to cure the problem, but i suspect that if you replaced the bolts with new ones the noise should go away.

I was going to say it could just be body twisting. You could be missing a couple of body mount rubbers or some of the rubber spacers in other places that keep the creaks down.

yer, but there has to be a limit of howmany times you can tighten them up.
i've done mine about 8 or 9 times. and i'm a bit worried that i'm going to break one next time.

30 mm plate oxy cut in to the shape of a arm with high tensile machined rings for the bushes welded to them on the front and on the back got adjustable ones like hr zook was sellin.

i snapped a front arm, but from hittiing a stump night driving! was fun drive home! I had a mate who made arms up using suzuki arms crossed with rangie arms, i think. he never broke one again running 5'' lift and 33's.

To strengthen arms you can sleeve them with heavy wall tube, or run gussets or similar. Making custom arms is also an option.
