Where to source 4.90 diff's for my NL??
Hi all, After recently needing to swap a 2.8 Td V5M31 5 speed manual into my paj i have noticed that in comparisson to my petrol box it has a much taller 5th gear, from my searching all other ratio's are the same. Been doing alot of towing lately so considering fitting some 4.90 diff ratio's to ...

Hi Ian, The 3.2 is going great, no problems at all so far, put over 10k on it already with a couple of trips to the high country and coffs coast. No regrets with doing the changeover from the s/c v6 to the Did, only let down i have found so far is probaly on the freeway/overtaking, where the petrol ...

Yeah not talking about the front prop shaft, what i was saying in the last post is i have a C.V joint at the front of my tail shaft, (where it slips into the back of the gearbox). There is a uni joint at the back of the tail shaft where it bolts up to the rear diff flange. So is this the same setup ...

Thanks for the replys, will check out the welsh plug and let you know. So when the welsh plug leaks does the oil apear to be comming out around the C.V joint area (my tail shaft has a C.V joint at the front not a uni joint), not sure if you guy's have the same? The oil seams to be spread out pretty ...

If your gonna be towing a bit, i would reccomend the 2.8 turbo diesel over the petrol. People say that the diesel's are a bit more expensive to maintain, but if you can do oil/filter and fuel filter changes yourself, the difference is pretty minimal. Go for the NH/NJ onwards if you can afford it ...

Why not put a 3.5V6 SOHC 6G74 out of a NL 99 model pajero in it? I happen to have one for sale with loom, ECU, mounts, starter, alternator, bellhousing, airbox + spares with 125,000 on it. :) Just done the water pump, timing belt, all seals etc at 90,000. Asking $2500, better motor than the 6G72 ...

Interesting thought Ian, not sure it would be a step in the right direction though going back from efi, but would definately give you a big boost in torque with the V8. I thought of a few options before i started on my supercharger conversion, one of them was getting my 3.5 motor rebuilt to the same ...
