Thanks for the reply's, will probally go with a second set of rims and some smaller tread for the time being and see how that goes... much cheaper and easier option if it works out.

Where to source 4.90 diff's for my NL??

Hi all, After recently needing to swap a 2.8 Td V5M31 5 speed manual into my paj i have noticed that in comparisson to my petrol box it has a much taller 5th gear, from my searching all other ratio's are the same. Been doing alot of towing lately so considering fitting some 4.90 diff ratio's to ...

Hi Ian, not sure if you have found the problem or not but my paj did a similar thing before i stuck a diesel in it, If it run's fine at full throttle and above 3,500 rpm and hesitates below this than i would suspect its the o2 sensor. Its at about this point/throttle setting where the computer ...

Hi Ian, The 3.2 is going great, no problems at all so far, put over 10k on it already with a couple of trips to the high country and coffs coast. No regrets with doing the changeover from the s/c v6 to the Did, only let down i have found so far is probaly on the freeway/overtaking, where the petrol ...

My shorty NL paj has a 3.2 Did in it with a 2.5 inch mandrel bent system and hi flow muffler, not sure if its makes a difference as i had to mod the exhaust as part of the conversion.

Anyone know if the cat is a requirement on diesels these days?

Cheers, ben

Have they tested the thing properly and plugged in their diagnosis equipment? Haven't heard of many of these failing on the later engines.

Yeah not talking about the front prop shaft, what i was saying in the last post is i have a C.V joint at the front of my tail shaft, (where it slips into the back of the gearbox). There is a uni joint at the back of the tail shaft where it bolts up to the rear diff flange. So is this the same setup ...

Have made a couple of attempts to fix this damn oil leak in the last couple of months and no success. Before i pulled the box out to put the diesel in, the front output shaft seal was leaking and the rear was fine. replaced all the seals when the box was out, now the front is fine and the rear ...

If your gonna be towing a bit, i would reccomend the 2.8 turbo diesel over the petrol. People say that the diesel's are a bit more expensive to maintain, but if you can do oil/filter and fuel filter changes yourself, the difference is pretty minimal. Go for the NH/NJ onwards if you can afford it ...

Interesting thought Ian, not sure it would be a step in the right direction though going back from efi, but would definately give you a big boost in torque with the V8.
