The fitter whoever it is isn't much chop if they will let a job out the door without at least suggesting action by the owner. FFS I thought it was rule 101 to check that springs are retained.

Evan why don't you use the adjustables that are available for the solid lifters? I think Real Steel sell them. Failing that you could skim the pedestals.

Re; Locker problem

We had had similar problems to this and after a lot of head scratching the locker was removed, checked ,o rings replaced, checked again, refitted...........In short no problem could be found. But the intermittent problem was still there. The locker was removed again, this time it was coaxed into mis...

Holley's are OK with a couple of minor mods, namely a 350 with a vent tube extension and mounted back to front works fine.

The Pro locker also uses a one piece cross shaft (better & stronger), whereas the ARB has a three piece design. The actuating cage cage inside the ARB's hemispere is plastic and cracks with time, they are cheap but require a complete strip down to replace. The Pro Lockers has hardened steel post...

Bump stops & axles

G'day all,
Quick questions, What is the standard bump stop clearance for a stock 2 door Rangie?
Will disco axles and cv's fit into an 85 front housing or do the stub axles need to be changed?
Cheers W

You will need very long breaker bars and have a good idea of what the correct preload feels like. If you dont get the preload correct a diff can be lunched fairly quickly.
If you're not confident in your abilities get a diff joint to do it for you, it's not expensive.

Go for Hytuff 24 spline axles & ARB Locker or wait until TJM's pro locker for Rover's appears.
I bought a rear Maxidrive setup through Fred Smithl just before Christmas and it cost me $1950.

40 litre Engel, just love it.
I was doing tours through the NT with 2 Waeco 110 litre units, they work fine as long as you can put up with the catches breaking continuously, the lids warping and the occasional thermostat failure.

Body lift

Hi all, Thought i'd spend the break on finnishing my 2 door Rangie. Just put flares and 33's on and now thinking of body lift. Question is, how much body lift do you need for 33" tyres? I could take the springs out and find out, but thought someone might know the answer and save me some mucking...

Fans

Hi, Try fitting Nissan Pintara fans, they're cheap $30 from the wreckers and fit a little better. They still require about the same level of mods, but have a little more clearance. I have a Magna thermo swith in the radiator and have it wired so that both fans switch on at 190 degrees, with a 4 core...

Rangie lifter issues

G'day, This is my first post/question. I have been having a perv at the site for a while and I have been impressed by the quality of posts. I am lucky enough to have 2 rangies :?: One is a '77 2 door (fairly standard) and the other is my '85 daily driver, which is the reason for my enquiry as it is ...
