cv's

Diff ratios of 4.11 is a balls up, and will mean you'll be rowing the boat between low1st and second off rd

Why won't 4.1 diff ratios and reduction gears work ?

So are CVs the only thing thats needs upgrading for running 37s on a GQ?

I run 4.1 diffs and an 85% T-Case, works fine.

And ...

I broke stock CVs on the second trip. However, the YURIs I replaced them with have held up great to 2 comps and plenty of social wheeling.

Even the front 4wd systems lokka is holding up fine.

Hey, I've heard some horror stories with PWR also, not having bracketry in the right place, fittings around the wrong way, etc. I thought that the better of the 2 was Aussie, which pisses me off, 'cause I live close to PWR!

Was thinking about this thing today.

The maximum width of a vehicle on the road (in WA anyway) is 2.5m.

If you use the full width your be able to have loonnnggg.. control arms. It won't be good in technical rock crawling though. But would make for a stable vehicle for high speed and help with flex ...

I've got a Chinaman's bender, with the standard dies it sh#t house.

Bought a Dawn Die, nb40 for $130, bends are great! You can see the difference in the die as soon as you look at them together.

My Dad used to have a chipped 2.8GU.

If you mean pick-up from stand still then there isn't a lot you can do.

Until it gets on boost those engines have a real hard time getting the car moving. When its on boost all is good.

Chip may assist in getting it to boost a fraction earlier as will a decent ...

I want flanges because my car is off-road only.

However, it makes much better sense to make hubs because the market is going to be alot bigger. You'll get guys who don't really need the upgrade buying them too, but no one will buy drive flanges for a car that sees any road miles.

Do both if you can!

A mate and I both run Yuri's CVs no worries. Both on 37's and running very low tire pressures.

You will need to start with good CVs and Yuri can strengthen them for you OR Yuri can supply new CVs and treat them.

Yeah, I'm the same position also mate.

Not really sure what to do, because an internal cage is attached to the body and an external cage which will be the part above the tray (main hoop & back stays) are attached to the chassis, joining the too wouldn't be ideal.

However, GQ leaf spring diff and MQ diff are same width( which has been used above), they just have the bigger GQ internals (R & P, axles & CVs).

I wanted to put a GQ coil diff in my GQ leaf ute (and stil run leafs), however it would mean that the spring mount ...
