gearbox oil leak on a 2006 Jimny

Hi Guys, I’ve got an oil leak that appears to be coming from the back of the gearbox where the prop shaft goes in. This leak was there when the car was new and I took it back to Suzuki who replaced the rear seal and the prop shaft. This fixed the problem for about 50,000k but it has now returned. I’v ...

Hi Rob, I'm in Sydney. Mate I would appreciate any and all advice you may be able to offer. I can get a T-Case for about $300 from the wreckers and I'm happy to fit the thing myself. If you have the manual T-Case and could measure the drive shaft it would be a big help. Yes, the hubs are done and ...

The hole in the floor is still there, it's just been pop riveted over. And the light.........f#$k it. I disabled the vacuum system when I replaced the hubs so that part is done. I'm thinking it's just a physical fit now, making sure the driveshaft is the right length and the mounts line up and so on ...

Jimny transfer case

Hi all, I have a 2006 Jimny with the push button transfer case; I would like to swap it out for the manual transfer case from an earlier model Jimny. I am hoping this will be a simple swap with no other mods required, as opposed to putting in a Sierra transfer case that requires shortening the ...

Hey Mitch, thanks for the reply.

I should have mentioned that low range has been working fine after the manual hub conversion (thanks to your advice a few weeks back) but it stopped working during a trip.

There is a fitting kit on D&G Tunings site for 780 euro but it's a little more than I wanted to spend on something that may be able to be fixed for free.

But I have been thinking the same thing!!

Jimny transfer case won't go into low range!!

Hi everyone, I was wheeling on the weekend and my trip was cut short when my transfer case refused to go into low range. I have a manual hub conversion and the vacuum hoses are blocked, I can switch in and out of 4wd but low just beeps at me and the light flashes. I've looked the transfer case over ...

I've done the hub conversion an all is well. The problem now is the 4wd light is flashing because the vac hubs have been removed. If I clamp the vac hose under the battery it all works fine but I'm looking for a proper solution. How do I bypass the vac sensor??

Hi everyone.......ME TOO!!!! I was wheeling this weekend and once I got stuck in the mud I realised my front hubs had not engaged (at least thats my diagnosis). I've been wanting to install manual hubs before this happened as I hear it's common, but alas I'm too late. My 4WD light is on as usual so ...

31" on a jimny no more, no less!

Hi all, I had a blast this weekend wheelin. But due to certain misadventures resulting in damage I've decided 31x10.5s are the go!! Me thinks, 4" spring lift with ARB winch bar, 15x7 offset sunnys, rockhopper series 2 in the stock 2006 transfer case and a teeny weeny bit of cutting will see the job ...

As it happens the mighty jimny automatically adjusted the fuel air mixture to suit the new snorkel all by it's little self. And it did well with the boys on the track over the weekend also.

I love it!!

Thanks Squik, I was thinking along those lines also. Pain in the ass though, the boys are meeting me long before the store opens in the morning.

I'm thinking that even though the airflow may have changed the car should be ok to drive without causing harm.

Would you agree?

Jimny emission control system warning

Hi all, I had a TJM snorkel fitted to the Jimny today and when I collected it the "emission control system" warning light was illuminated. Hi all, I’ve got a pretty much standard Jimny with an OME +40mm lift and I’m having a ball driving the little bugger over anything I can point it at. I’m surprised at just what these little things can do. I drive it to and from work everyday (1000k per week) and my wife drives it to work on the ...

thanks mate,

I've given the front guard a bit of a pull by hand and it's helped. I was hoping to put some 235 75 15 Cooper STT tyres on when they're due for a change but I'm thinking what I have is about my limit unless I get the saw out.

Thanks again.

Jimny wheels rubbing

I’ve got an issue with my wheels rubbing the guards in an uneven way and I’m hoping someone out there can offer some advise. When I reverse and turn the steering wheel to the right, the left front wheel rubs on the inside of the bumper. It doesn’t rub when I move forward and it doesn’t rub on ...

When I bought the Jimny I did it under a lease and I really wanted to get all the extras included in the price......I'd be pretty pissed to find out now that the couple of items I had my heart set on actually would have fit.

Liam and Dave you've got some explaining to do!! :x

Interesting……..the person/s that said it wouldn’t fit was Liam at Big Balls Motorsport (snorkel) and Dave at ARB Artamon (Bull Bar). I offered my hard earned cash for their snorkel and bull bar and they both said, “No thanks, they don’t fit”. http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modules/phpBB2/viewtopic ...

Now this may seem like a silly question but what’s the opinion out there regarding cleaning the mud out from under the car? I ask from the point of view of maintaining the car not making it look pretty. How often should you clean the under carriage, with what and what’s the best way to protect your i ...
