I'm keen on attending but have a few questions. Mainly from the point of bringing young kids along

What are spectating points like, do you get to see much action?
Are stages along way apart?
How much walking is involved?
Food and Drinks vendors?

Re: federal gouragie tyres 35inch 250.-each

I didnt know they stopped the LTB, i ran them for a while and loved them.
Doesnt leave a lot of options unless you can track some down interstate?

Not keen on the 34x9.5 Narrow S.S?

If your not hell bent on a true 35 what about Creepies in a 255/85/16?
They measure about 33.5 x 10?

Depending on how long the shocks are you may need extended brake lines and you may need to retain the springs.

Glenn Elliot ran a black Landy Hybrid Ute a few years back in the Ateco, i didnt get a close up look to notice how the cage was done inside the cab.

Pretty sure DaveS3 from here is a mate of Glenns, maybe shoot him a PM he might be able to help out a little?

I'd be very keen to here from anyone regarding the fitting of 15" rims, makes buying a 2nd set of rims and tyres a little cheaper for him.

So a standard Patrol rim with a 285 will fit?

Why not consider something in a 235/85/16 only a fraction wider and taller than a 7.50/16 or if your after a bit taller 255/85/16

The 235 will open up a lot more options and if your looking for something more aggresive look at the skinny swampers there an awesome tyre.

I reckon if your dad is happy enough with performance i would stay with the original 3.54 and run Airlockers with the Hi Tough Axles. I'm not really up with the diff pegging but my guess it stops flex. This set up should be good enough for a rangie on 33's, CV's will be the next thing to start ...

If their factory is built like their cars, someone would have to 'SLAM' the doors

Yes the 300tdi is a little more refined than the 200 but has no electrics so cant be chipped....most common mod is tweaking the fuel pump and a free flowing exhaust but still no powerhouse.
