A combination of all of the above. His brand of rims are Kings, mine are factory (stock) Nissan 15x7's. Our driving styles are similar, but I might give it a little more stick on occasions.

Have to agree with mavzilla. 8" rims would be better, but I also have run 7" rims for years now with 33x12.5's and have found that they are OK. Been like that for the last 50,000 k's and never had any problems, with even wear and good handling. A cousin of mine has the same rig (LWB GQ) with the ...

nzdarin, you are right about keeping constant pressure on the accelarator. lt does make a difference. But why does it make so much of a difference if you are going the same speed? lt's probably a stupid question, but l don't know a hell of a lot about autos.

l agree with striga22, they are a lazy auto and need a decent right foot most of the time. That seems to be the best way to get them to go down a gear.

Best way to drive autos?

l picked up my rig yesterday with the reco auto and remembered how annoying it is to drive when you are stuck in a 90 km/h zone. lt just can't decide which gear it wants to be in. Now my question is : what driving styles do you do eg. drive it as a 3 speed (using the power button) until you get to ...

4 grand does seem alot, but l rang 5 different auto places, and the prices varied between $3750 and $4100. The auto is nothing special, just a normal Nissan 4 speed in a GQ.

l am a bit wary about that. A cousin of mine put in a "good" second hander, and 2 days later she was cooked. lt was inspected before purchase by a auto specialist. Any way, my auto is now half way through being reco'ed, so it's too late now. At least it comes with a 3 year warranty.

l prefer autos, but l have to, as the auto in my GQ just f@#$%d up, and now will cost me roughly 4 grand to fix. :bad-words: l better like it after this.
