well its not exactly loose sleeves but they are slightly worn, so two options either get them honed or resleeved, or stuff it and just get new rings

yeah a just in case $2k resleeve is out of the question so might just wack a new set of rings and bearings in and go from there

just finished removing the engine from my 84' rangie,

contempleting a full resleeve, new bearings and pistons, anyone recommend someone for the resleeving, have heard to be carefull as if its not done properly the sleeves move about causing more problems???

in trying to fix the original alterator did get the pulley of with some persuasion, until the hammer came out to tackle the rest so, yeah suppose not worried about actual pully

mounts via 3 points, however its not so much the mounts i am worried about as can always manufacture something its the taco and also pully on it, most dont seem to have the v shaped belts which standard lucas's do, do you know if the taco can run of a ford alternator

got a problem sourcing a replacement/new alternator for my 3.5l 84' rangie, been quoted up around $400 for a replacement, not wanting to spend that much, have heard you can use a 85 amp au one, however cos the taco input feeds off the alternator and I want to keep the taco going, any ideas or prev ...

have a small persistant problem with my 84' rangie, seems to blow a reasonable amount of smoke when travelling down hill mainly, and overall burning a fair bit of oil, was told to do a compression test and all points were 120, i am assuming this is normal thus rings should be okay???, what else ...
