Pacemaker do good extractors for the 1hz. I'd also get your valce shims checked too mate - makes a difference!

Can always boost ya 1HZ and not bother with teh expnse of a LS1 conversion... that truck that past you is probably a tanker with teh fuel you needed to run and LS1 anyways!!!

white smoke is unburned fuel. My guess it's not enough compression for the amount of fuel injected on start up.

Engine speed and power is governed by the amount of fuel injected.Wouldnt excess fuel just cause the engine to run at higher RPM?
I thought excess fueling would show ...

I think he meant the 1hdt rods and the 1hz pistons with the larger gugen pin holes, still a flat top piston.

Andy - BB and Exhaust manifold are on the cards as the Turbo in use is maxed out a 13psi ...

Nope - forget HPC as they will flow LESS as thats a build up...

After figuring out the limitations of pre combustion chambers on a boosted 1HZ head, I figured that high flowing or "porting" the pre combustion chamber so it created less resistance woudl be the go. Seeing how these create cracks in the head and issues all around...

My 80 now seems to be only outputting 4V from the high beam switch instead of the 12.5 going onto it.

Had the whole thing apart down to the box n wires... any fix or is it just worn out? Can I buy just that box and re solder the wires up? Anyone know where and on the cheep?

BJ - notquite - best noise ios from home made U bend turbo with external wategate... Whistles on/off boost and has a great sound as you change gears..

Enjoyig the same issues myself. Just have to go get a reco Pwr Steer pump every 2 years or so as a C/O unit.

Gotta pull mine out tonight to take back. had the pressure hose replaced recently too - got a new box to do at the same time - will see if a cooler will help on the return line this time ...

I have a GQ front diff, disc to disc under my 80.

few mods, nothing major and it fits nicely. Been great - blew a couple of CV's in it lately (not locked either!) so i must be having fun!

Biggest drama is getting a panhard to suit... rest is straightforward.

Will be doing a GU soon enough ...

It gets the clean air and doesn't get heat soak.
No moving parts
No pump
No Rad to repair etc...
Once you come off the pedal, the EGT's come down way quick - even when doing long hills.
Very efficient when towing etc to keep EGT below 550...

I met him today and back the service 110%.

I drove down to his pad and had all my lights ex Lightforce's installed in no time flat - even updated my lights themselves and after just blinding myself in front of the shed ...

Had a set installed in october, did 3000k's then staked a sidewall on a log - only bummer really.

Had them for 10,000k's now and they are great on/off road, hang on well in clay/soft stuff and clear okay when aired down to under 10psi.

Seem to be okay on rocks, but will definitely use my Simex ET ...

I had one installed - very handy! My 80 didn't have a factory tacho and you need a new pump housing to have one! big $$$!

Tiny tach was under $200 and works a treat - piss easy to install!

There is a red V8 80 down here that was done by Slammed Creations - really properly done chop chop. Half the battle is teh tray - if it follows the lines it's killer. Otherwise sloppy.

Really good cut job can be found on MudRhino - I like the tray setup and the though in to teh way to do it - heaps of pics and how to!

1HZ for the application you are looking at will be fine.

As per my PM - if buy smart and get the right bits, you can make $3k on the motor go a very long way.

In short yes you can adjust it. I'd get a diesel tuner to do the work as if you f%$k it up you will be at the diesel guys emptying your wallet...

Easier to do it right the first time and get a warranty... and the emptied wallet!
