I've got superior's smallest on a 3" lift which has now sagged a bit. It drives fine. Only castor related issue I have is the tracking. It follows the road quite readily, features rather heavy steering, wants to corner like my GTI but fails miserably (gets a bit darty during corners) and nosed...

shane.. drop arms x link different breed? i'm sure you can't run plates with an x link There's no need to as you can adjust the caster by where you weld the centre pivot point. This is why I don't see the point of putting after market arms in when fitting an X-Link unless your fiting longer arms. A...

15" steel wheels will be fine except for 4.8's as mentioned above but watch it with alloys as they are thicker so there is less clearance. My alloys come very close and sometimes rub on the brake calipers on the front when the wheel bearings start to loosen.

I have a frame table 3000mm long X 1500mm with 6mm plate on top. Its definetly not thick enough go the thickest you can afford is my opinion.

Heres a few pics of an 80 (same chassis basically as a 100) that did Baja around 10 years ago. Not sure if it raced or was just a prerunner. May give you some ideas. http://i310.photobucket.com/albums/kk438/tractionfab/84.jpg http://i310.photobucket.com/albums/kk438/tractionfab/82.jpg http://i310.ph...

I don't think its a 60 because 60's have the bolt holes on the outside of the chassis rails this bar has the bolt holes on the inside

I used Penrite limslip 85w-140 and the O-ring lasted 3 weeks, after ringing ARB they told me not to use LSD oil for the above reason. Maybe they were just covering their ar$e from not installing the o-ring properly. Although there is no benifet at all in using LSD oil as an air locker doesn't use fr...

Don't use LSD oil, the friction propertys in the oil used to get the lsd plates to grip wear out the o-ring and the oil will leak up through the air line. The o-ring will last about 3 weeks. Just use standard diff oil 90 weight.

If it rubs chop it away. Mine only rubs at the front because of the fore and aft movement of the leaf springs but I will be chopping the front panel away more to fix this. There is no reason why more metal from the inner and outer guards can't be cut away to accomadate the tyre.

Aza is right the 4140 has more carbon content as compared to 4130. It is harder but more brittle and welding hardens the heat affected zone making it brittle and prone to cracking. Unless welded under strict conditions mild steel would actually be stronger

I had a Migomag 260 but didn't like it at all. The rep told me the transformers aren't being made in Australia anymore and ever since they've been crap. I now have a Lincoln 255 and its a weapon. Can't go wrong with WIA or ESSAB and Cigweld are not bad value.

Just a thought What if you jump it and you land with equal pressure on both shocks bottoming out both your "short" shocks? Flex isn't the only thing you need to think about. Longer shocks also have more oil and surface area to disperse heat. Also you have a ute so you have the room

Anyone doing production welding of aluminium will be using a pulse MIG. A normal mig will be ok for short runs but the heat input needs to ramp down as you go or you will melt through. Thats why TIG welding is far superior to MIG as the amps can be controlled as you weld.

If you plan to use it in comps then you will need to comply with CAMS standards that CCDA impose meaning minimum requirement is 44.5mm cdw 2.5mm seamless tube. A thicker walled seamed pipe or tube is weaker as the seam can split in an accident
