know a bloke in syd that had holden 5L in a dual cab ln106 and it was very tight at the firewall only 5mm of clearance. thats with no body lift though.

thanks guys i used the thin cutting discs and yes they do wear quicker. but other than that they were ok. to smooth the edges i got some scotchbrite discs and some flapper wheels and yes i still have all my fingers and can see.

I already have to rezize both drive shafts so that cost wont change, i already have a spare trans case so i wont need to find one of those (how do i know there the right type?), so im guessing i need a dual trans adapter kit and longer speedo drive cable ...

gday mate the rubber ones will wear quicker but flex better. If your running them with greasable shacs its better if you use proper rubber grease as they wont deteriate as quickly. Anyone correct me if im wrong.

Gday mate if your not running heaps of flex the 2 peice will be fine. ;) and i just happen to have a full 2 peice shaft out of my old lux 93 ln106 :lol: i can measure it if your interested ;)

in most cases you just remove the load barers and they ride ok, you need to look at shocks, brake lines, drive shaft, and steering. if you dont want to do all that you can redrill your spring perchers thats a easy fix with a lot less involved but wont move it as far forward.

i will have to get some of the "wicked" polish :D but i have given up on polishing it sucks. but for all u people that are still suckers for polishing get yourself a "power ball". they go in your drill and make it alot quicked. and if you do this from the start you probly wont endup jaded like me ...

yeah mate i used it on the bar on my commodore on it was really hard to buff off. I think autosol is one of the best i have used. but polishing sucks unless ur really and i mean really bored (and ur 4by is off the road :bad-words: )
