yeah mact can to it no worries, mark's adapters will look after you with the parts required! But if you are thinking of keeping the manual box, get a different one, because it won't hold up to the power. this conversion in reasonably eaisy to do

Grab yourself an r151f gearbox out of a surf, 79/78/100 series 1hz motored landcruiser, 90/120 series prado or later model turbo diesel hilux. This will be strong enough to handle the ecotec motor, or keep the TH700 auto box and adapt a gear driven transfer case off the back, once again marks/dellows make adapters...
Cheers,
Dan.

Now I'm a V8 man but a while ago I went for a fang in a car that ran a 3.8 V6 punched out to 4.8 & had a turbo sitting on the side, it was running an aftermarket comp & a bit of custom head work etc, all this added up to one hell of a ride  . Saw it dynoed and the numbers blew me away this thing had gobs of torque too.
It's got me thinking that a compact & light motor with 350+kw might go well in a 4by.
I'm tipping it's not going to cheap though.
Cheers
Andrew

yeah there was a artical in street machine a while ago you can buy a kit of the shelf to stroke in to 4.1L and add a supercharger and you should have some decent torque i'll try find the figures soon.

if you are best to change the g/box is there a manual box you can use rather than turbo 700?
3.0L turbo diesel, 4" lift, bud's front housing, track assasin cv's, air lokker front + Rear, beadlock'd 37 stickies, high steer, 15.5" travel ranchos, high pinion diff and coils on the rear
