Now I'm confused! It's not that hard, but getting it right most certainly is. Give Joel at 4b fab a call he is seriously a guru when it comes to tuning yeah i though about giving Joel a call, trouble is with him being so far away i wouldnt be able to get him to tune it and run it on the dyno. its easy to explain things over the phone but when it comes time to doing it and ...

dont mean to sound rude but is there any reason you left the boost at 11psi, were you temps getting high or just decided that is enough? can i assume that if you were at 13-15 psi that you would have approx 90-95kws. i think iv read that 15psi is its max efficienty for the factory turbo and you will ...

Re: gu td42t new owner, do's/dont's and my first impressions
Are you sure they are 3.9 ratios? I thought all td42 had 4.1s. I'm running 35s and just went to 4.3 from stock 4.1s, so I am half way back to standard. Better on road. I am getting around 14l per 100kms and mostly weigh in at 2680kgs with me in it. Gu's run 3.9 in 4.2td wagons. The utes get 4.1s. 3 ...

Re: gu td42t new owner, do's/dont's and my first impressions
Oh and I also forgot to mention that when I had the air intake off while making my lid I noticed a hell of a lot of oil build up from the breather pipe to the rocker cover, so I plan on fitting an oil catch can as well. But for now should I pull the cast pipe off that attaches to the turbo and give ...

cool thanks heaps for that, didnt even think to check the nissan site regarding gear ratios  so if i go the 08 box basically all my gears will be the same apart from a lower 1st, which probably isnt such a bad thing for clutch life/towing etc. and it will bolt up! well that is question pretty ...

Re: How do front lockrites go on the beach?
Redhead only needs right boot at the entrance because half the clowns there use too high a tyre pressure and chew it to shit. I run 5psi in my zook and can 2wd it without wheelspin. Mates in cruisers/patrols run 6-8 and can do the same. You don't " need" a locker on the beach, but on dune climbs it ...

I have a 98 GU patrol that i want a little more power out of. I was thinking of running an after market computer possibly ...

Re: Gu gearing options h260
Cheers JoseM, very informative! I don't think I will do both 3.9 and 35's at the moment as that could feel like quite a step down in power.. Re: Gu gearing options h260
By loosening up your shifting do you mean the way the clutch takes up and transfers power to the wheels? Sorry to sound dumb... Also with the 13% shouldn't that be 6-7%. Only being when I first bought my truck with the standed tires It said 100km/h was 2300. Checked with gps and I was only doing 95 ...

Also, you could get Marks Adaptors a ring, they may know something I dont, since they sell the stuff.. Now, just out of couriosity... Is 200rpm really worth all that trouble? Think it will save you all that much in gas? I ask because i know the distances you drive "down under" are not to be ...

I have H260's in 4.1, 4.3 and have heard of 4.6 but never seen one. I have not heard of any other ratios. For those calling them a land anchor, I have more ground clearance with a shaved H260 than I did stock H233b I am talking standard housings and on 33s!! they are land anchors  the rear ...

IMO unless forced induction is used 3inch is wayyyy to big on a lazy tb45. 2 3/4 max, I had a 2.5 inch mandrel high flow jobby on mine with pacemakers and that was plenty! Noise became a problem once I tried bigger plus no gain in power!

I to had a bucket of puss tb45, tried all the cheapish mods, exhaust, filters etc I ended up throwing in a 304 5.0l which was still inadequate so I put a top mount blower on it with gas injection and guess what..? I'm finally happy!!
My advice is turbo and gas inject it and you won't look back!!
