Have an 80 series 4.5 on patrol/gas.

it starts on petrol then goes to gas once revs have reached 2000 rpm. Have not had a problem with it in a year of owning it.

Last two mornings car started fine, it has gone to gas. I have then driven 200 metres up the road and it has stalled. It then wont ...

4.5 80 using oil

i have a 95 model 80 series with the 4.5 petrol

it seems to be using a bit of oil about 1 litre per 3000 k's and the oil light will come on for about 30 seconds to a minute in the mornings when its first started.

it doesnt appear to have any leaks

Just wondering if anyone else has had their 80 ...

i have a 4.5 litre 80 series and when giving it some from about 3000rpm i start to get a whistle sound out of my exhaust. The sound is identical to that of every tarago you hear going up a hill.

Just wondering if other people have experienced this and if they took the third muffler out did this ...

my 60 had them when i bought it. There were three of them and they were all bolted into the floor of the cargo area. The previous owner had simply drilled a whole through the floor and then bolted them in

looked at redbook and from it I can work out that we we recieved the swb until 1994 and the tb42 was never injected in the swb.

Is this correct? does anyone have any different info?

my gq had problems with a front wheel bearing being loose and the nuts welding themsleves to the hub.

was away from home and after expensive repiar bill drove 300k back to sydney and found the new bearing was loose. After mate retightened it im finding that the hub is heating up a lot to the point ...

Have the opporutnity of putting a extra fuel tank in my truck, its a 91 gq 4.2 turbo diesel. The tank is a 60 litre one from my mates petty lpg truck that is now straight gas.
Question is can i use this tank as an extra one which would give me 155litres of fuel. Is it a matter of just bolting it up ...

Do be carfull fitting other rims becouse the front free wheeling hubs on the patrol/maveric are slitely larger in diamiter than toyota and most of the time nissan rims fit toyota but not usually the other way around, but some do fit. the 16x6 where also fitted to what some called country paks ...

I have a 4.2 turbo diesel gq already in good condition, however with the price of diesel it is costing a lot to run around in. Should i just bite the bullet and get one already on lpg?

Have a gq patrol with the stabaliser disconnect for the rear. Have raised it with 4 inch coils.
I want to put the sway bars back on. With the front the gq doesnt flex much anyway so not concerened and as i have disconnect for rear want to keep that set up.

The 12ht didnt only come in the Sahara plenty of g-packs had them,

The 12ht is the pick because of the piston shirt cooling, however get a good 60 with lower k's and if it comes with a 2h that hasnt been turbo'd i recon ...

All I have to say is that Toyotas and Nissans both have their advanatages and disadvantages and I have enjoyed driving both.

I went with 4 inch lift and 33s and im quite impressed about how the gq goes

Reasons for doing lift include three things,
1) Increased ground clearance
2) Increased articulation
3) To enable to fitting of larger tyres

Therefore when deciding what size lift you need to decide what size tyres you plan on running to ensure you dont do the lift ...

I know in NSW that headlights must not be higher than 1.5 metres from the ground.
