There should be a breather on it, there was when we put it in a few years ago, but who knows what you have done with it, possibly used it to tie up some back packers

If you want a hand you have my number mate.

Check all your suspension bushs and steering joints for play. Check the wheel bearing condition. Check your leaf spring U-bolts for tenion. Basically put the rig up on a set of stands and go over the whole suspension and steering with a fine tooth comb. It may be a combination of 5 little things ...

You got to decide, Comp car or Rego car. Completely different spec. Alot of comps in NSW don`t need rego anymore. Build one to do both means wasting alot of coin with stupid engineers and rules that wont make a very good Comp rig. A good start: Comp rig needs, v6 , auto, dual hilux-cases, 60 series ...

and i dont think Rhett has a v6 or dual winches in his zook Pretty sure Rhett has front and rear suck down winches. IMHO they are essential to be at the top end of the field. Rear steer not so much (though DIG is essential if no rear steer, and i think essential overall). V6 maybe not, but at least ...

Redhead only needs right boot at the entrance because half the clowns there use too high a tyre pressure and chew it to shit. I run 5psi in my zook and can 2wd it without wheelspin. Mates in cruisers/patrols run 6-8 and can do the same. You don't " need" a locker on the beach, but on dune climbs it ...

Sounds like some garbage has been sucked up into the carby as the above post said. When you clean it out fit a secondary filter in the fuel supply line after the fuel pump. A cheap generic fuel filter from Repco or simillar will do. This will help avoid the situation happening again. If you can get ...

A mini spool is the correct way to solidly lock up the diff. It puts a solid piece of metal between the axil in the middle of the diff. I would only run it if it was a weekend toy or a farm rig. If you google suzuki mini spool you will find it. why would you spool over weld? Mini spool is ...

Factory gauges are fine for ordinary use. Personally I'd rather an oil light than a gauge. Oil pressure isn't something I need to know when driving. And a lit light attracts more attention than the gauge. I once forgot to reconnect the oil pressure plug on my 80, and i drove around for a few days ...

The filter should be just above the pan, usually a black flat object with a neck that slips into a hole in the valve body. When you drop the pan it will be staring you in the face. It will have an open window on the underside of the filter where the pump draws fluid up through the filter media then ...

Keep your eye on the leaf pack, the extra strain of being inverted may cause it to sag quicker than the remaining packs.

Did they do any work on the shocks. If they had the shocks off, it may have allowed the spring to droop down lower than usual, causing the shock to invert when they lowered it to the ground (with no shocks in it).

Check the diagnostic codes as Dave said. Possibly it could be the temp sensor being faulty, telling the car its in cold start (possibly below zero) all the time. Even if you dont get a code, if you cant resolve teh problem probe the wiring with a multimeter and check the values against the factory ...

When you weld on the truss, make sure you stagger your welds. Tack the truss on, then weld a few inches, diagonally switch sides, weld a few inches. Etc Etc This helps stop the diff housing pulling from teh heat expansion of the metal. The other option is to brace the housing in a jig with axle bars ...
