i found 3 80 series for sale all lots of kms and they were all 15000 and nothing special only one being diesel and that had like 400 000kms so i dont know might have to look on the mainland when i am there

well a gu would be perfect as the person i will be touring with will also be in a GU but i did not think my budget would stretch that far
but ii am going to SA for 2 weeks and will have a think and when i get home i hope to have made up my mind! haha thank you for all the advice

well i do all mods myself and i was thinking 3-4 inch lift with either gq-80 as i would like to go do some tracks around the place aswell i have found a gq in reasonable condition for a decent price. which fits in very nicely with budget and already has the lift i want and leaves me cash for other ...

i am looking at fitting a 6.2 chev to my mk patrol there are 2 places that seem to make a bell housing Dellows and Castle Main Rod Shop. i was wondering if any one has used any of these bell housings (chev-sd33t)
the idea is to more the gear box and transfer forward 25mm to help clear the fire wall ...

sadly from what i have heard marks dont do any mq-mk converions

now with all rodshop things ive seen do the bolt holes actually line up properly ??
And did it come with all the bolts? The correct bolts?
Still, it could be worse... it could have come from Dellow Automotive.
could some one please expand on these issue as i am about to purchace a bellhousing ...

i put 33x12.5 on my mk and decided to do body lift as the clearance was minimal and with much off road work they would have rubbed .
but if you are using the 7 inch rim and patrol offset rims they should be fine as they will sit in the guard

i ran 35s on my mk swb with 2 inch body lift and cut guards never had an issue with rubbing at all kept it nice and low

yep we were stuck up to our asses in mud in a soa gq flat tray
got us out
pulled it out at home and it was dry as =waterproof
but we only used it once

my mate got one sent to tassie it only cost like 80$ and didnt have to buy anything extra and the time i used it on his patrol it did its job we were happy with it

why would you put a 253 in a 4wd especialy a heavy 4wd if you want a v8 go for the efi 304 or if you have a company fuel card the 308
