I just bought a hare&forbes bandsaw. was tossing up between bandsaw and cold saw but couldn't justify the extra cash for the cold saw.
very impressed with the bandsaw so far, easy to set up and can walk away while it cuts the bigger stuff. Squareness on the cuts straight out of the box is way better ...

Re: Links
All my links were over 1000 and no drama. I used 1.25 for uppers aswell.
Opw truck bent the rod end itself but I don't think they ever bothered changing it? The jmw 40 has had a slightly bent front link for 2 years? After landing hard on it, Hasn't seemed to worry it.

Mine would have been a bit heavier but 2" alloy links and 1.25" heims. Never had a drama.
Radiators
So how do people with no real design limitation choose there radiators?
I need to work out what size is required to cool the ls2, will be front mounted and used at high and low speed...aside from just measuring up a standard commodore radiator is there any way to tell from scratch what will be ...

I think there were "some" str 2wds. but all the d22 navaras are stick shift for lowrange no fancy switches so if its got two gear sticks its got 4wd. been a while but I believe its the same as patrol, pull back and down for 4L

So I'll be the first to admit I run my 15a mig with a filed down plug. First house we had a 15a socket so it was no drama , every house since only has 10a. Current house I'm waiting to build a proper shed so not going to fork out just yet for correct outlet. Occasionally it trips when I turn the ...

not hi-jacking at all, clean looking rig you got. cheers for that. You own the toy I take it? Seen it compete at TT and it goes hard.
How do you rate the 35's on stock ratio?
Thanks, yea was my toy. On road the ratio is fine, more noticeable towing but still better then my 4.2 patrol previous ...

Lol,
On topic,
Dang! Good luck finding and paying for bypasses with 20+ inches of travel ;)
I'd say that ultimately your travel will be limited by the CV-angles of your setup.
Nah only going to run 18s. But you can get em up to like 30" now I think I saw the other day
Agreed on CV angles ...

Just check your max compression after filing it with oil. There was a bit of difference between what I found on the net that they should take and what they did. Had to let a fair bit out as it hydrolocked..

I've got 30k on mine now, appart from it using a bit of oil there's been no dramas. Only power mod is 3" exhaust as I haven't decided on a chip yet. I regularly tow 3.5t and it handles it no worries, doesn't like doing it with 35s on but still will.

Shock tech and picking something suitable
I'll admit I've only just started looking for the info so it maybe obvious, but I'm trying to find manufacturer (king/fox etc) recommendations on sizing and bypasses.
2.5 - 3.0 with triple by pass seem to be most common but at what point do you go to 4.0 and 8 bypass?
Any one got any good links ...

Are you only doing the fast stuff with yours Evan? Prob wont make much noticeable difference. Id like to push mine out too 69-70 but I think itll make it to painfull for tuff truck.
the navara was 68 wms wms and shitty steering angle.

Diff widths
So with people building buggys/tuff trucks to try and suit multiple events, what MWS-MWS or overall width are people going for? The americans all seem too wide for our stuff particularly if you want to cone dodge aswell.

Doesn't matter, as long as they meet the rules. That's what's good about it, guys there that push the rules to the limit and others with full body full chassis. Don't need another class it works now.evanstaniland wrote:A lot arnt trucks. They are skinned buggysWICKED wrote:Tuff TRUCK not Tuffest in CLASS.

agree with the fact its dodgy keeping the chassis rails...but a lot of guys build around em so they are only really there for looks..
don't agree with the 2nd class for tufftruck.. will take away from the whole event.
