I have U shapped mounts with 2 bolts above the chassis. They only are like 8mm or 10mm below the chassis so rocks dont get caught there. Only issue I had with the mounts are that the 2 bolts on the top of the chassis needed to floor to be tapped a bit higher for more clearance so teh bolts could be ...

Its possible to make them pretty water proof. I have pretty much waterproofed mine now but remember simple things like faulty leads can cause major issues. Wasted ages of time thinking new leads be waterproof.

I fitted a longer bracket about 1 year after lifting my car and its completely different now. There is a huge difference and its stopped the front end wandering under braking as the rear brakes more.
