i know it has been done mill from millweld made all his own gear including bellhousing adaptor for his chev into patrol conversion, think he used 16mm but think he had to space the tailshaft a heap cos it sat the motor a bit far back, if it sits too far back without a bodylift it will be tight, i ha...

well mill said they were almost identical so shouldnt need it, but you have to speak to mill to be sure of the details to suit yours, the idea of a 6 point is really growing on me now, but im sure getting 4's done at the same time will still save money. for those interested 6 point will be $1700 ins...

well spoke to mill today and the swb mk/mq will be the same as the gq so same cost, also checked out some very sexy mill 6 point cages today at wandin so if funding can be obtained that might be on the cards but wont know till after the engine is in and done. and interest in 6's?

with bolt in there needs to be a piece of plate on both sides of the floor to stop it pulling through the floor, the weld in only needs the inside plate, and yes they do have to be a certain size for ccda specs

yep itll definately be strong and well made, im going for weld in but if you want to do it yourself spose you could go bolt in, youd just need to put sections of plate on either side of the body.

dont think it would be much of a problem, i assume the shape/lenght of the cage wouldn't be much different to a gq, ill ask mill next w/e at wandin 4wd show, should be easy to put in cos you can take the top off the mq cant you? would you have any specific needs that may be different for your setup?

at a guess thatd have to save a few hundred, your in qld though are you? so freight would kill any savings. plus youd have to sort your own freight. but if your in vic then sure itd be a lot cheaper if you can do it yourself.

well i was at millweld today, he said a 4 point made from the right stuff (44 something something) with removable cross braces in the main hoop would be around $600ish but would prob drop to around $500ish if more than 3 were being bought/made at the same time (could get better if there are 5+), a b...

group buy on roll cages for swb GQ's and mk/mq's now

well as the tittle states, im interestd to see who else would be keen in a 4 point roll cage for their shorty, if theres enough interest we could look into 6 points instead/as well, and if people dont need it to comply with ccda it can be done with the tube used for bull bars to keep costs down (dif...

i have a 4" snorkle and a millweld airbox on my 4.2 petty gq and doesnt make much noise unless you have the passenger window down and even then its not too bad, worse for passengers than driver but i love giving it a bit with the window open sounds awesome with some revs.
