I have a GQ with 4.2 diesel and want to know if anyone has made an v8 adaptor using 8mm or 10mm plate to adapt v8 to bellhousing.

I know i need to get the center point spot on in the center,
My main question is the distance on the input shaft were the clutch sits is it going to be the right spot

I have the tools and ability to do the job if its posable

the manufacture of the adaptor would probably not be too hard if you have some decent fab skills as it would be much like the inch and a bit thick adaptor that bolts onto the front of a 3 litre manual box in a y61 Doable but for the effort it would probably be worth just spening the money on a a marks 4x4 one.. been done to death so it should be a good quality product and there adaptors take into account clutch forks and operating systems etc and offer solutions to that problem.. but if your keen and confident why not.

What torque? Tighten it till it strips and then back it off half a turn.

i know it has been done mill from millweld made all his own gear including bellhousing adaptor for his chev into patrol conversion, think he used 16mm but think he had to space the tailshaft a heap cos it sat the motor a bit far back, if it sits too far back without a bodylift it will be tight, i have a spare marks belhousing and a few other bits in good nic to suit turbo bolt pattern chevs and 5L holdens to patrol manual that i need to get rid of (heaps cheaper than new) give me a pm if your keen.
