Re: tripple bypass shocks on gq patrol rear

Oh and you might already know but in case you don`t you might have to re spring the car too.
You can get away with running a softer coil with stronger shocks and pick up better ride comfort without bodyroll or coilbind.
Make sure you use Kings or elbach as other springs dont work as well with some ...

Re: tripple bypass shocks on gq patrol rear

For sure.
Alot more trucks would get a better result from shocks if the owners checked a few things first before just ordering shocks with a cool sticker on them. I would just use just a certified weigh bridge and weigh fromt and rear in that case.
You should be able to look that up on the net ...

Re: tripple bypass shocks on gq patrol rear

You could try Xtreme motorsports or if you talk to any off road racing or speed way guys most shoud have pads for each wheel.
You can`t sort of lend these things as any damage is bad and sometimes hard to pick up in inconsistant readings.
Not alot of advantage on a road driver anyway as most are ...

Yep Greenie(has a tb48 stroked to a 5.1 turboed)and it broke every other thing in it`s drive train but the transfer.Cory has been running a built 6lt with a 3.5 lt charger through a manual and we`ve raced these cars for years and never broke a transfer.I only have seen one break and it was due to a ...

Re: tripple bypass shocks on gq patrol rear

Mate your best bet is to talk to one or a couple of the shock builders and you will need to have,Cornerweights, travel, ridehight and where you want the internal bump to start. This alone will disreguard the need for hydrolic bumps as a shock built right should do that anyway.Alot of shocks that are ...

I`ve had a go with some 2.0 king piggy backs but under full compression didn`t have any luck room wise.Remotes could fit but you really won`t see the benifit from the byes.Go a set of 2.0 smoothies on rear and a set of 3.0 smoothies on front.I`ve found it the simplest and cheapest way to get better ...

There is no need for people who spend the money and time on performance motors to have the information pulled to bits on a website!

Yep too easy mate.

Oh just double check your bore size, I got a motor that had flat top forge pistons and rods on a turbo`d motor (go figure) and they were too small for the bore on standard 4.8.It piston rattaled like a mofo and, Ahhhhh, I wont go into it but it was supposed to be a rad motor that ...

Re: asperated 4.8

No big problems with it mate other than the adjuster is oil pressure fed and dosen`t apply enough pressure when you back off or when your on it, with bigger camms for that matter more pressure on the chain is the key.

Yes the oil pump drive has to be replaced with a billit one we have got a couple ...

Mabey a 4l8o? they handle pushing a 2500 chev along all day with a 454 . With the right cooling can`t see why the wouldn`t push a patrol ok.I know they have a huge toque converter and manualized are the closest thing to the turbo 400 with another gear.Must also say that the big bellhousing gu 4 ...

Mate as far as I know the 4.8 manual out of the later gu`s are the toughest and also have a nice close ratio for good changes.Td 42`s arn`t any slouch though by any means and if you could get a low k one that would easly handle ls1 for sure. The drama with 5th gear was only with early gu boxs and was ...
