i've done it too. didn't have time to stuff around with electrics so spent 150 on an auto elec. ditto to all the above plus the boost reservoir. gbx is same for 4.2's. would i do it again. HELL yes. loving it. used to have the carby drinking about 19-22l for every 100 k. down to about 10-12 these ...

hope you like paying for fuel. the petrols are pretty thirsty. i'm in the process of changing my mav over to a diesel. was getting roughly 19l/100km on the highway, carb model, efi get a little bit better, which is very good (i look after it very well) expecting about 9-11l/100km out of a diesel ...

engine swap tb42 to a td42
hi all just doing an engine swap on my mav to a beautiful 4.2 n/a diesel from the petrol. just wondering is there much of a difference in the looms apart from the glow plugs and dizzy. would it just be easier to swap the whole engine looms or just wire the glow plug loom in.

td42dan. what sort of turbo did you install. just reading threads and people seem to be quite happy with the safari kit. just looking more low down torque for towing and hills. does anyone have any good ideas. there are thousands of posts but no definates, "this is good, this is bad" etc

hi everyone, having some dramas with my carby patrol tb42. sucking juice like its going out of fashion. done everything short of replacing the car to try and fix this. getting about 21-23l per 100k. i'm just wondering if anyone would have a diagram of where all the vacuum lines are suppose to run ...

hi to all. just about to put a diesel 4.2 into my petrol gq. just wondering if gear ratio's in the box and diffs are the same ? my understanding is that they only differ between dx and st models, regardless of petrol or diesel. is this correct ? any help would be good
