G'day,

the test i gave you to do is the best and easiest test you can do to diagnose which part is faulty, without getting out the multimeter.
Are you still using the factory gauge or have you fitted aftermarket one.
If using aftermarket what brand of gauge are you using?

hey mate, I'm guessing that by the information in your post that it is an electric temp gauge and not the old bulb style. all you need to do is earth out the wire to it by just toching it on the engine block, if the gauge reads to max temp then there is nothing wrong with the gauge, and you probably ...

yep,as the flywheel spins it will fling oil onto the clutch plate, but if its not too bad of a leak, when you do the rear seal just take the clutch plate and hit it with a heap of contact cleaner or brake cleaner will do the same trick, shouldn't have to replace clutch assembly.

HI steve, that oil could be coming from 3 places the rear engine seal, clutch slave cylinder or the front gearbox seal. if its black oil then most probably your rear engine seal. if its a browny colour then probaly your front gearbox seal. if its a greeny/brown colour then probably just the slave ...

just having a bit more of a look at the diagram and the bulb is connected to a bulb check relay which could be bringing up the sub warning light. i'd say see how it goes after you replace the bulb. as for the manual mine is just a gregory's manual no:519 gu series diesel 1998 - sept 2004. but most ...

i find mine idles at about 700rpm but with air/con on can go up to 800rpm,
this is fairly normal as there is an idle up vacuum control on the injector pump that puts idle higher to accommodate the load of the a/c compressor.

sub tank warning light

hey mate, just went through the wiring diagram in my gu service manual, found the fuse linked to the sub tank and pulled that fuse out of my fuse panel, the sub warning lamp came on but the light in the sub switch stayed on. I'm guessing you have a blown bulb in the switch and more than likely a ...

GU side rails and steps

Hey team,
just wondering if anyone knows who makes a solid set of side steps and rails that mount to the chassis, preferably twin rails for more protection.
Also thinking about building my own.
Take it easy guys,
