I would be suggesting the float valves might be clogged not allowing enough fuel to flow in to the bowls? Doesn't sound like anything to do with ignition if you ask me, if it was it would start to cough and splutter. unless it isn't a smooth loss of power (or quite simply no change between part thro...

Yes I did read something about that. Apparently that is actually true... but you need a lot more hydrogen to do that which still negates the effect since you need a very large amount of energy from the alternator.
Interesting thing though is that none of these systems use the oxygen that is produced?

I looked into this hydrogen fumigation thing in a bit of depth just recently and I don't believe that it works. This is why: Say you have an engine just running and driving an alternator which is charging a battery until the battery is fully charged. You then turn off the engine and use the battery ...

Knew you would eventually find this one too ben :) I'm not a huge fan of shifting the LPG evaporator at this stage as when it was installed a bracket was welded onto the chassis to mount it. If I move a few other things out of th way (like the cylinder head lube) I may be able to fit the bigger powe...

Before heading out 4wding, I seal up my distributor with a latex glove. Cut the fingers off, the tip of the thumb and a bit of the wrist section of the glove and then fit it onto your dizzy by passing the vacuum advance actuator through the thumb. Here is mine... Yes I know it's dirty, I was out in ...

I would think that anyone who has the resources and ability to make their own LPG mixer ring, would have no trouble making a cracker air box that fits the cheapest, most common, most efficient filter available, good luck with it and don't forget the pics. Peter. PS, maybe make detailed drawings for...

This is the only air filter I can fit. Is it too small?
Hi all, my land rover has the 3.5L V8 fitted and I currently have a finer filter foam filter on the engine and it is FAR too small for the engine. So I'm currently looking to change this when I fit a LPG mixer ring that I designed (I hope it will work better). I dropped into a place that sells donal...

Would doubt it's a blown diode or a loose winding since there is 3 phases in alternators and at most you will only ever loose one at a time (in which case the alternator still charges but it isn't steady). Is the alternator externally or internally regulated? Does the charge light come on when you f...

Funny contrast. Here I am running my engine crank case at 5psi of Vacuum. I wouldn't bother with the pressurising, it will be fairly difficult to regulate and should something get blocked you may have oil pouring out everywhere. I suppose it depends on how often you submerge your car, and how long f...

Thanks for the tip patroler, My whole car is made out of thin aluminium so it will all dent up evenly :) lol. That is a good point about the cracking though, I'll have a flexible joiner on it so the engine torque rolling won't put any unnecessary strain on it. I guess i'll have to mount it carefully...

Who can do welding of thin wall aluminium tubing in melb?
Hi guys, I've got some 3" aluminium tubing and elbows that I intend to use to make up a snorkel. Both the tubing and elbows are quite thin walled so I know it is very difficult to weld. Is there anyone here that can do it or knows someone that can? Naturally I'll pay for the work. Hopefully som...

Well, I fitted an EFI manifold to the engine. And on the stage 1 the engine is not centered in the car but over to the left (as you probably know). Unfortunately the EFI manifold has the throttle body on the left hand side also, so I have very little room between the throttle body and the side of th...

When I purchased the leaf packs, I did request them to be light duty, but I don't think that is what I got, since you would try to push the car down on the springs and it simply wouldn't budge. And that was with already one leaf removed from the packs front and rear. So after doing some reading I fo...

what's with the bloody signature pic. You may have noticed no one else has them here for a good reason. be careful with resettting springs if they are older springs with a history you don't know you may find they wont take to resetting too well and you'll end up where you are now in a couple of mon...

My leaves are just over a year old and I'm looking into playing around with them... Did some calcs of their spring rate and they are WAAAY too over sprung so I'm going to pull out a few, trim them to an even spacing, chamfer the ends and get them reset to a higher free camber and tempered. I just ne...

Leaf Springs & Places that do leaf resetting in VIC?
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows of some good places that do leaf spring resetting & tempering in Melbourne and the outer suburbs. Had one quote so far and it was $215 a pair! ... almost the price of leaf springs new!
