Re: Hilux 3.8 conversion

your best bet is to watch the classified's on here and wait for someone to sell one second hand! otherwise that is a never ending question depending on year of motor, what gear box you are going to run, how much work you can do yourself, if you get it enginered, and not to mention the wiring side of ...

Hey Shane, check your engine mounts very carefully, if you have to use a big pry bar use it, mine was unnoticable untill i took the engine out and then it fell apart. As for jumping out of gear have you put a body lift in? if so check that your shifter does not hit the cut out in the body were it ...

I honestly couldn't tell you what it looks like. I never bothered with it because if you don't get it out of the exact car it won't work, they are all individually programed to certain computers and there is more involved to it than just the bcm it goes threw a complete circuit including the ...

I have to agree with Struth this is not solving mates85 problem the motor he has is what it is, there cheap easy to fix and in my case reliable. The 3rz's do have valve problems and I could buy a complete motor and gearbox for a lot less than fixing the head on a 3rz. But anyway to try and solve ...

with the vr motor they run a body control module and unless you pulled the complete wiring loom out of the vr you won't have it, to overcome this you need to buy a body control simulator wich will overide all the antitheft. If your running an auto you should'nt have to get it re chipped it's usually ...

series one motors had different cranks for auto and manuals as "hiluxmad" said, you should be able to see the difference as the newer ones had 8 bolts on the fly wheel and i think the old auto's had six, either way crs and marks 4x4 do a kit to change it over either way. you might have to look at a ...

you will notice a very slight difference with the hubs locked on road because the lockrite lockers are designed to lock up under torque, so when you go round a corner one wheel is spinning quicker than the other and loading up the centre, quick way to fix this make sure your hubs are'nt locked. The ...

i would'nt be buying a new box unless you really had to because these are a modified dyna box there not just a factory thing. I'm pretty sure the rear part of the housing is a custom thing that you should be able to get from marks 4x4. And i think from memory the complete box is over 2grand.

best way to stop it being a rollux is to keep it low and wide, keeping in mind that a hilux with 33's or better still 34's and a lifted crossmember will go as far as a pootrol with with 35's.
