Re: 80 series full time to part time
Changing my full time 80 to part time has been the worst thing i have ever done to my 80 series. I hated the way it drove compared to full time, and it amplified some minor front end problems to the point where they had to be addressed. Dont do it, i would love to go back.

If your going to run them on road they are hard to balance yes, my tyre shop groans when i come in and there is always a massive amount of weight placed on them and i can never seem to keep them balanced for long.

Why ? AFAIK these tyres are useless as shit for a 4wd despite a few decent trucks having tried to run them. Extremely hard and tough military/agricultural compound and almost no give in the walls, designed for roadworks and a few military vehicles. Comparable to running a military spec Goodyear MTR ...

Re: 1 HD-T v 1 HD-FT engines
A 1 HDT IS JUST A 1HZ with a turbo slapped on the side. A 1HD-FT is the 24 valve multivalve head. Actual turbo motor. So much better. Match up with the auto and they are sweet as. If you buy a 1HDT. miss well buy a 1HZ and turbo it yourself sane result basically bar the boost compensated pump and ...

Dont bother, they arent worth anything more, despite alot of dreamers who will try to sell them for drug money just because its had a cut. Just because you took a chunk out of your cars body does not make your 7K 80 owrth 30K like some people seem to think.

enjoy your underpowered boat anchor, so many better, considerably cheaper and more modern conversions available.
Personally would have worked the 1HDT or dropped an FTE in there and pocket the extra 10K saved.

MJ80, I'd be changing the location of your thermocouple probe, the difference in egt's before and after turbo can differ drastically and the difference is not a constant. It's no good saying post turbo is 200degrees less, I've seen charts with pre and post turbo egt's measured on the same engine ...

Thats a huge amount of boost... are you guys even slightly considering reliability in your packages/tunes ?
Can you run high boost safely as long as your EGT's are acceptable ? 600 is pretty high...
