Hi

check the vakuumtubing at the frontaxle. There is a vakuumaktor to lock the hubs. It happend at my 1999 Delica too. The tubes where damaged and the hubs remained in locked mode. If the tubes are o.k. check the vakuumsupply.

no they also produce single lockers. Klaus got a rear and a frontlolcker for his Hyundai Galopper (similar to Gen I). If you want it assembled it in a 4x4 they never did before they need a round 3 weeks to produce it .

the upper balljoint of my Delica is fixed the same way. I make it from stainless steel lasercuted. so it is not nessesary to do the same at the lower balljoint. This one is also fixed by screws.

after I disassembled the complete front driveline I couldn´t find a defect. There are no damaged parts or play in the joints. So I guess it´s the chain or the chaingears.
What is the wide of the chain in a 5 speed auto? The wide of all the gears I have in "stock" is 48mm.
