Read somewhere (4X4 Oz?) that they are going to stick airbags in 70's. I believe it is because none of the big mining companies (eg BHP) are buying them anymore due to their OH&S systems I wonder how many lives would have actually been saved in 70 series cruisers over the years from air bags? Sounds like the old cliche of 'don't buy the first of new model'. I made this mistake when I bought a new 78 4.2 naturally aspirated model in 2000, and the gearbox gave out at 120k. Run a 78 turbo now which is excellent vehicle. Toyota will iron out the problems, which I have heard is the odd turbo ...
