Re: Dual batteries & LPG

You can use the diesel one where the tray sits between the overflow bottle and the motor. That's where my one sits, it was on gas.

Re: how to adjust steering box?

there is a thread sticking out the top of the steering box on the opposite end to the pitman arm, you adjust it there (1/4 turn at a time). Do it with the car running.

Re: GQ Aerial?

If it is separating the aerial from the guard, you need some circlip pliers (or really pointy pliers) to undo the silver bit you see on top, there should be two small holes.

Re: Seats ...... whos fitted what to a GQ ?

I fitted autotechnica race seats into my gq, they were fairly straight forward, spacer on the outside rail with two bits of 50x8 flatbar to go between the rails as the race seat mounting pattern was a bit narrower. Heaps more comfy then standard, and the wings help keep you in the seat.

Re: el falcon alternator to tb42

When I did my alternator conversion, I made up a new mounting bracket out of 10mm plate, same size and shape as the nissan factory one but with 10mm metric nuts welded in the spacing of the EL falcon alt.

I know a few people who have had them on both Patrols and Landcruisers with some issues, whether it was an early model thing. I have them on my GQ now, I like the option of changing the valving to suit the style driving I am doing, my coils are a bit stiffer so off road they are on 1 and on road ...

either the tough dogs or try some EFS Extremes, similar size but a bit cheaper in price, they dont have adjustment like the TDs but are every bit as good if not better.
