I must agree. that's the reason why on my 110 there are only 10" shocks (BTW, the 110 pictured is much more balanced these days, with 10" travel shocks up front).

anyway, the question was about 14" shocks...

there are some defenders around here with 14" shocks. that requires- -custom mounts -droop kit- cones for relocating the coils -longer bumpstops (crucial if the coils are longer than 2" lift coils- that makes sure that niether the coil nor the shock will limit the suspention) http://www.pictor.co.il ...

OK mate, basicly the setup your truck has (or should have....) is a Salisbury rear axle and 24 spline front axle (with 32 spline CVs). So, basicly, your locker, even once its coverted can only go in the front. That means you'll have to think about the added cost of getting a rear locker too (be it ...

Re: ARB RD03 conversion to 24 spline?

24 spline axleshafts (D110). Are you sure you have 24 spline axles? The rear salisbury has 24 spline axles but the front on most defenders is only 24 spline on the CV stub shaft. The inner axle at the diff end is still 10 spline. I think they may have changed to 24 spline from the 300Tdi on though ...

ARB RD03 conversion to 24 spline?

A friend gave me a present- an old (used) ARB locker (he refered to it as an old piece of useless junk).... but the wrong one. The one he gave me is RD03 (10 spline), and I have 24 spline axleshafts (D110). is the RD03 rebuildable as 24 spline unit? has anyone made this conversion? if so, what parts ...

and... don't forget- you'll have to put some strong axleshafts with any kind of locker- auto or selectable, to replace the original sh#t.

on the rearend, an automatic locker is just right. I know some defenders (including mine) runing detroits in the rear diff- no problem. in the open (lighter) 110, when cornering very tight, the locker is somewhat noticeable (no damage- just a scarry sound), on the heavier SW, the vehicle weight is ...

this one is attached using two tabs, on both sides of the bulkhead with one bolt- somewhat longer than the original. the rear attachment is to the outrigger, using 3 bolts.

First- it's not my LR- mine's a d110 HD SW, under construction right now (I promise to post some pics as soon as it will be rolling). this 90 belongs to our local LR parts ditstributer- He is selling these way-to-big Allard intercoolers, so he wants everyone to see the intercooler (by the way- this ...
