Repair cost and feasibility will depend on what else has been damaged by the failed bearing. If there has been damage to the crank as well it will start getting expensive. Sounds like you've broken some rings! A compression check would show that up. Might be time for a new (or upgraded!) engine.

That sounds like valve stem seals as well. While the engine is sitting oil runs down the valve guides into the inlet port and burns away when the engine starts. Replacing valve stem seals isn't really a job for the average bloke to do at home. Best off asking a local workshop for a quote. It can be ...
