Re: Patrol RX 2.8D?

hey mate, truck is mine.

In terms of economy with my 285 75MTRs i get about 13 -13/5 L/100kms, when i had the BFG ATs(same size) i used to get in the low 10's, somewhere between 10.2 and 11 consistently. Its a great truck at a great price and i cant understand why it aint gone!!! Heaps of emails ...

Joining the Suzuki Club

Well on Monday i am picking up a brand new GV Prestige  i was concerned about the fuel economy of the V6 Auto for a while but the deal we got offered was fantastic!

However i have just noticed that there is going to be a new V6 released in a few months, its a 3.2L, is this suzukis attempt to ...

Just to run an engel 40L, maybe for 2 days max. i had almost conceded to the fact that it would have to go in the cargo area.

Hi There,

Has anyone fitted a dual battery setup in one of the new GV's. Looking at buying a new V6 or DDis and wondered if there are any dual battery configurations out there yet?

is it the factory pressure gauge, if so i wouldn't rely on it? My GQ used to show low pressure all the time, then i installed a mechanical gauge and it was perfect! The electric ones are useless and i seriously doubt it would be a mechanical one if it is still the factory one.

How many km do you do? Unless you do a lot it probably won't cost you that much more realistically speaking. I'm using around 3l/100km more than my old Feroza- so under $5 extra per 100km (using $1.50/ litre purchase price.) Hardly a huge expense. ;)

The price of diesel is sky rocketing- and with ...

Grand Vitara V6 Economy

Hi guys, we are looking at purchasing a GV to replace our Lancer, i will keep the patrol for now but this may eventually replace it as our 4wd. We like the V6 purely because of the ride and the auto (i do like the diesel though). The only thing that is putting me off the V6 is the fuel economy, they ...

MTRs Fuel Economy

Guys,

Recently I changed by worn out BFG AT's (probably 20% tread) to new MTRs, same size 285/75R16. I have noticed that my fuel economy has gone from 11.7L/100kms with the BFGs to 13.8L/100kms with the MTRs. The other factor could be that I have probably been running the Air Con about 80-90% of ...

It's a 30 amp fuse --> go to dick smith or jaycar or whatever, a brand new fuse holder will be like $2, the fuses to go with it will be about $2 for a pack of 6.

$5 + your time.

Its an 80 Amp fuse for this one...its the black one next to the Glow Plug link...

GU Patrol Tyre Sizes

Guys,

Noticed that the ST Patrols (in the GU 1) came with 265/70 tyres which are about 30 - 31 inch, yet the DX's came with 33 inch tyres.

Does that indicate that the DX's have more room in the guards as standard, maybe a factory bodylift?

Reason being, I was wondering if a GU DX with a 2 ...

Spring & Shock Compatibility

Hey,

Just a quick question someone may be able to answer.

Are the Old Man Emu Shocks and Springs same for a GQ SWB as a GU LWB.

ie Could I put my OME Setup (MED) off my shorty onto a GU LWB?

Cheers

Guys,

Are the Springs and Shocks on GQ's interchangeable between SWB and LWB?

Reason being I think im going to sell my Shorty and buy a LWB, and would probably remove the OME Lift of it to transfer to the newy?

Anyone know if they are the same parts?

Guys,

I am considering selling my GQ SWB in the coming months as I want to upgrade to a LWB GU (Not sure which yet, but looking more likely to be a 4.5 Petrol as the 4.2 Diesels are still expensive), but I first want to know what would be a reasonable price for mine.

I know that most people state that you should only use a 15W40 with TD42's but I have noticed that over these warmer months in perth, my oil consumption is noticeable (about 1 - 1.5L / 5000kms), and the pressure when idle and hot is dropping to only just above the manufacturer min spec.
