Guys,
I am considering selling my GQ SWB in the coming months as I want to upgrade to a LWB GU (Not sure which yet, but looking more likely to be a 4.5 Petrol as the 4.2 Diesels are still expensive), but I first want to know what would be a reasonable price for mine.
Its a 92 (Series 2) GQ SWB Diesel, with 225'000 ks on it.
I bought it for $14'000 about a year ago.
Im guessing its the model between the DX and ST (apparently there were no ST's in the Diesel at this age), it has AC, Cloth Trim, Carpets, 4 wheel discs, power antenna.
Mechanically the car is A1, only problem being a small oil leak from the transfer, wheels and tyres are good, has brand new OME Suspension Lift, ORE Bullbar. Had it serviced and fully checked by a mechanic mate of mine, he cant find anything else wrong with it and says that it drives great for a TD42.
The bodywork is OK, I repaired some minor rust in the gutters, other than that it is great, but has a couple of minor dents and scratches.
Also the rear window sliders need replacing.
Now, Redbook states that the price for these is 9-12K, but I know for a fact that in WA they go for a lot more, as GQ SWB Diesels are VERY RARE!
I regularly check the paper, and apart from the imports, there is usually only one of these every 2-3 weeks.
Would I be wrong in assuming that I would get my money back, do you think it would be worth 13K or more....anyone interested?
Just trying to get some feedback before I decide on selling it.
