i just took out my 3Y and putting a reco'd 4Y in... same engine mounts and all... not a hell of a lot of power gained but for a cheapy its pretty good...

Thanks mate, have solved the problem. There once was a problem with the original loom/harness for the head lights and the drivers side light was getting between 2-3v to it... it had since been to an auto electrician and had the relays put in. One was for driving light, one for highbeam and another ...

Gday Guys, i was trouble shooting a wiring problem on my mates 84 4runner. Basically the drivers side Headlight had 3 relays to power it sufficiently. I took out the relays back to the original loom and the wires are behaving correctly when the lights are on/off but are not giving the headlight ...

thx for the suggestions guys... it will be my daily but love the sound of a V8... so yeh... would love something old skl and heavy

I have a 84 Hilux Xtracab with a 3Y 2.0L motor with a G52 gearbox and transfer case...

I am looking to do a full conversion (if funds are available EFI).

Has anyone got any recommendations. Would prefer to steer clear of Holden conversions.
