Update...

I managed to find some time to spend trying to fit the gears in the front diff.
The result...the chinese gears fit but can NOT work properly.
I had two sets and in both cases the gear mesh was NOT the right one.

So, I got a mitsubishi set from the rear diff of a delica and those gears ...

It's a real shame Mitsi didn't make a 8" HP 5.29 it would solve a lot of problems.


If you can get a custom 8" HP 5.29 C&P set made up at a reasonable cost that is approaching factory strength then I would definitely go with that and ditch the CAD for reliability and just run manual hubs (but that ...

I managed to find an 8" LP front diff from a pajero V6 3.0 gen1 (not so easy as you think). I got it from UK.
There is a BIG difference between the LP and the HP diffs. See pic...

No , mitsubishi 9" centre DONOT fit to the 9.5" housing.
But you can transplant the ring and pinion gears from a 9" to a 9.5" diff.
As you know 5.29 r&p gears are available ONLY for the 9" diff and NOT for the 9.5" diff.
This way you can have a big 9.5" diff WITH the 5.29 gears.

Yes,there is a difference in the diameter of the bolt holes. Sleeves can solve this easily.No problem.

Don't know if someone done it already but today we put a set of 5.29 r&p rear gears from the 9" diff into a 9.5" diff and they FIT.
There is an issue with the spline diameter in the back of the pinion , it is smaller in the pinion for the 9" diff , and I had no flange from a 9" diff to check if it ...

Now I have to locate and buy an LP 8" centre front diff.

I ordered TWO sets from China.
Total cost including shipping (DHL courier) and bank fees at 138 euros (USD187).
Have no idea what the import fees will be.

Yes,there is always a quality risk with Chinese products.
That is why I also located a source for the gears in Japan. But the CIF price will be USD690.
